The City of Scottsdale and Maricopa Association of Governments have entered into an agreement to begin work on expanding Carefree Highway into a four-lane road.

The consent agenda for Scottsdale City Council on Oct. 25 included an intergovernmental agreement for the capital project of Carefree Highway between Scottsdale and Cave Creek roads.
