Development permits for Papago Plaza’s restaurant and retail buildings are currently expired and construction has paused.
The permits were issued in 2020 and an extension granted in March 2022. Once a permit is issued, there are 180 days to obtain the first inspection or the permit will expire, according to the city of Scottsdale.
Papago Plaza is a 13.29-acre urban mixed-use lifestyle community with apartment homes, a hotel, a Sprouts Farmers Market location and three restaurant and retail buildings, which were previously expected to have tenants in 2023. Construction broke ground in December 2019 with completion slated for fall 2020.
The 276-unit apartment complex, SeventyOne15 McDowell, is open and available to rent. The hotel will be SpringHill Suites Scottsdale at Papago Plaza.
