A mixed-use development with 215 residential units and 11,370 square feet of commercial space near the intersection of Scottsdale Road and Gold Dust Avenue will become a reality.

The project, known as High Street Residential, 10050 N. Scottsdale Road, cleared its last hurdle when city of Scottsdale’s development review board approved the site plan 5-0 last month. Vice Chair Jeffrey Brand was not present at the meeting and board member Ali Fakih recused himself from the vote.

“I’m really happy to see this item come forward,” Councilwoman Tammy Caputi, who currently chairs the development review board, said.

She called the almost-empty strip mall the project is replacing “blight.”

The Scottsdale City Council already signed off on the rezone of the 4.64-acre site in November 2022.

The building will top out at three stories, with mechanical appurtenances. Amenabilities on the site include live/work units, 382 underground parking spaces, 1.51 acres of landscaped open space, pool/spa area, yoga/fitness space, and indoor/outdoor co-workspace. The plan also calls for 21 work force (below market rate) living units.
