According to the latest data, the median household income in Maricopa County is $76,247. Now consider that is slightly less than half of the median household income of the tony Paradise Valley area of ZIP code 85253.

The U.S. Census Bureau’s 2021 American Community Survey five-year estimates of America’s wealth, education, families and living arrangements, health and housing showed median household income for the 85253 ZIP code as $159,846, well ahead of the $150,037 in 85262, the Scottsdale area that includes the luxurious Desert Mountain development.

The median home value for Paradise Valley rose from $1.34 million in 2020 to $1.42 million in 2021, while Scottsdale’s 85262 rose from $854,000 to $903,300.

Arizona as a whole showed a median household income of $69,056.
