While it’s early in the process, Erickson Senior Living has its sights set on building a facility with 1,150 units near the intersection of North Scottsdale and Princess roads.
The proposal made to the City of Scottsdale calls for 975 independent living units and another 175 units for residents requiring assisted living, memory care or skilled nursing.
The proposal made by the company, which was attached to a zoning district map amendment and conditional use permit request, calls for six-story buildings. However, it’s not clear how many buildings there would be on the 55-acre site, according to Scottsdale Planning and Zoning spokeswoman Kristen Landry.
The independent living units will be one- and two-bedroom apartments with up to two and a half baths.
Amenities include a fitness/well-being center, pool, medical center, pharmacy and life enrichment center. There will also be a movie theater, classrooms, game room, media centers, creative arts rooms, hobby shops and satellite fitness centers throughout the community as well as multiple themed restaurants and cafes with shared kitchens.
Outside will include outdoor dining, fitness, walking, relaxation and games areas.
Programming includes resident gardens, pickleball courts, dog parks, bocce courts, putting greens, fire pits and amphitheaters.
The plan is to build the facility in phases with roughly 1.5 parking spaces per independent living unit.
The proposal presented to the city says the facility will create 1,400 jobs and will have a $194.2 million annual economic activity at build out.
