Reports of deed fraud are rising sharply in Arizona — and vacant land parcels are the primary target.
The National Association of Realtors 2025 Deed & Title Fraud Survey found that vacant parcels are now the primary targets of deed fraud nationwide, including in Arizona.
In 2024, real estate fraud totaled nearly $50 million in Arizona, according to the association.
Lisa Paffrath, a Realtor and the 2026 president of the Arizona Association of Realtors, advises her clients to sign up their properties with a Google alert, which is free.
