Scottsdale Area Association of Realtors® supports Fountain Hills primary property tax ballot measure

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. (April 27, 2018) – The Scottsdale Area Association of Realtors® (SAAR) today released a position statement in support of the Fountain Hills primary property tax ballot measure, which will provide much-needed lasting financial stability and support for the future viability of Fountain Hills.

In a 7-0 vote, the town council of Fountain Hills voted in favor of moving forward with their primary property tax ballot measure.

“Every citizen desires a high quality of life where they live,” says CEO Rebecca Grossman, “and housing value depends on a community’s continual investment in infrastructure needs to provide that much-desired quality of life. We know and appreciate that town officials strive endlessly toward this goal.”

Strict, sustainable, fiscal management is required in order to build and maintain the necessary elements, which work together to keep Fountain Hills the beautiful and unique community residents know it to be. Infrastructure, parks, public services, landscapes, bike paths, sidewalks, public gardens and city centers all place continuous financial demands on the local municipality to maintain them; and a primary property tax is a key source for steady, ongoing revenue—one in which the town may rely upon to fund these needs. Given the town of Fountain Hills does not currently have a primary property tax in place, its residents must now address approving or disapproving this steady revenue source to sustain itself.

SAAR asks affected residents to help them support the measure by voting ‘YES’ on May 15 to approve the primary property tax and secure the future of Fountain Hills for generations to come.
